Why do we love it so much looking into other people’s houses?
I for one, find it inspiring to see the furniture and objects combined on show. What are they, how are they placed and what choices were made. What story does the interior tell me, what kind of person is living in the picture, who’s daily life stage is it? I like the photographs printed on spreadsheets, the larger the better, so I can get into the details, the books on the shelve, the reflection in the mirror, thingies that maybe weren’t meant to be in the picture… {Knowing the photo above is the home of photographer Inez van Lamsweerde, make-up artist Vinoodh Matadin and their young son, definitely adds to the magic!}
Publishing house Taschen is doing the look books so well, it has just launched Volume 3 in the Interiors Now range.
Here’s a selection from it.
