This is woodblock printing. The work of Anthony Burrill, and if you watch the video’s on his site you’ll see there’s more to him than wise cracks. He’s is the original graphic artist, who blew up little thoughts he confided to his notebook, turning them into bold statements. Sometimes they were not his, but words he overheard, somebody else talking in the background. But! taking them out of their context and isolating them, put onto plain colored backgrounds, done up in old school typesetting Burrill makes them look ever so true!
