Calm After The Storm

Conchita Wurst has won The Eurovision Song Contest, singing for Austria. Conchita is an elegant starlike woman with a full, dark beard. Her song mentions a phoenix, and captured by her close=ups I start to think it is all true, it is about her, Conchita, who’s last name is probably not Wurst, and who hasn’t always felt this glamorous. Her journey to tonight’s stage, is probably the story of remarkable triumph. Can’t help thinking of her mother. On a night like this. Can’t imagine, it feels religious almost, but with a happy ending.

Musicwise The Netherlands had an interesting song and setting. Ilse de Lange and Waylon, The Common Linnets for the occasion, sing a true story too, but underlining a more universal feeling, love, the bittersweetness of it. Wonderful lyrics, a masterpiece to create such intimacy while at an event like this.

Basically the whole event, the Eurovision Song Contest itself was the support act to The Netherlands’ entry, Calm After The Storm. Because Now is quiet.
