Amsterdam seen through fingertips

Right now there is an ad campaign up to inform us about the CtheCity project. It is a tour of Amsterdam conducted by blind tour guides. It promises to be an experience that will last. A one hour wander will take you through a miniature version of the city in compleet darkness. To maximize the experience you can book a table in a dark restaurant at Ctaste, and feel the taste of food and drink by dining in the dark.

I wonder.

The paintings are done by the blind tour guides.

The organisation behind this bookable experience is Ctalents, who seek to help blind people and find (more) corporate jobs for them to take on. And they are succesfull: Their ‘social payback’ is 11 serious jobs found. Apparently 80% of the blind demographic is without a job.
