Canal plastic on the bright side

Ecover washing up liquid, in a bottle made from plastic from our canals

This is a bottle of washing-up liquid made from the plastic waste found in our canals. It’s done by Ecover, a special issue of the Ocean Plasic Bottle launched last year, taken to the next level: Amsterdam’s plastic waste.

Together with their friends at Plastic Whale Ecover collected the plastic from the canals, before it could reach the North Sea, thus reducing the increase of plastic in our oceans.

Living on a canal myself, it feels magical to have a bottle returned from the water. Up-cycling is positive.
