I just heard the sad news of Al Jarreau, he died yesterday, at the age of 76.
His music is a chapter in my life. So sad.
But! He was here and he did inspire audiences and music pupils all over the world. He was a busy soul, always had stuff to do, places to sing, music to write. He stayed ever so humble – winning seven! Grammy Awards – and was proud to perform for the Obama’s at the International Jazz Day Concert last April.
Jarreau is now officially a jazz legend… watch his inspiring life story here:
His version of Your Song from the album GLOW is forever connected to my mother’s memory. Beautiful.
