Artist: Thievery Corporation
Lead artist: Racquel Jones
Album: The Temple of I & I
Yesterday I saw the Black Power exhibition in the Tate Modern in London. It shows the art made by black artists in the revolution of the Sixties, King-vs-Black-Panthers-time. From the merchandise I chose the cd – after I checked the playlist. Quite tribal old skool protest songs, Gill Scott Heron being the most elegant.
Compare to the new dance rap Letter To The Editor by Thievery Corporation, a combo best known for their slick sofa surfing tunes in the Nineties.
They are touring the United States this Fall.
