At Home – Self portrait by Matisse hanging in my living room downstairs
The drawing I made before I looked up the photo’s.
I remembered it by day with the sunlight beaming in on either side of Matisse’s glance.
It was Diana Ross singing Mahogany that made me think of Matisse’s self portrait, hanging downstairs.
And it being the day my mother died, I thought of Mahogany.
