Light Festival Amsterdam 2019-2020. Kadijksplein | A replica of Korean light boxes from a particular area of Seoul. They are threatened by new city developments making it look like everything else.

New Year’s Eve 2019, we strolled along the installations of the Light Festival.

From home along Entrepotdok, Kadijksplein onto NEMO. We saw some interesting work, it’s definitely improved since they started 5 years ago.

When we turned the corner behind NEMO we came onto the Oosterdok, the dock on the eastern side of Central Station, the busy hub of Amsterdam transportation, a cluster of life and light. But nowhere to be seen.

A sudden fog had crept up. Mysterious darkness. Dramatic lighting.
